Heaven is Still Open: How to Conquer your 'Coronavirus' Fears

How to Conquer your Coronavirus Fears

Hey, beloved, we are living during an unprecedented time of fear. As a matter of fact, the fear of getting the virus is way more viral than COVID-19 itself. So, how do you take a stand as a family when the rest of the world around us is in panic mode?

Here is a truth: Whatever you feed your heart will multiply in your life and to others. We have an amazing opportunity as followers of Jesus to be a voice that speaks God’s truth, blessings, hope, courage, and love.  So, how do you do that when your own heart wants to run in fear?

Here are two of God’s best fear busters:

1.  I turn my heart towards God in worship.

Greg Beale titled his landmark book We Become What We Worship. His thesis is simple: “What people revere, they resemble, either for ruin or for restoration.”

What have you revered today? What have you focused on and repeated over our life? When my heart is fearful, then my worship of God is too low. When my worship is high, my heart is full of courage!

I've been singing this over my heart and family all week!

2. I tell my heart the truth by speaking God’s word over myself.

Here is a perfect verse to speak out loud over your heart.

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Tim. 1:7 ESV)

When we speak God’s word out of our mouth, it is the same as when God spoke those words to the men who wrote the Bible. What you speak through your lips, you release in your life! Want more power, love and self-control?

Declare it right now!

Here is my favorite coronavirus fear buster - Psalm 91

Read this out loud, over you and your family and friends.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.

Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands, they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life, I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” (Psa. 91:1–16 ESV)
