Ed Tandy McGlasson is the founder and executive director of The Blessing of The Father Ministries. He is a pastor, best-selling author, renowned conference and corporate event speaker, and a five-year veteran in the National Football League.
As a former lineman in the NFL, Ed played with the Giants, the Jets, and the Rams and has been in the center of action on athletic fields of major stadiums all over America. He has heard the cheers of huge crowds from the time he was a young boy in high school – but this very big man has a very big vision to reach them with the love – and the Blessing – of the Father through his testimony and life-changing message.
Ed’s call to ministry began in college, after being healed from a career-ending knee injury that led to his conversion and faith in Christ. Ed details his life in his best-selling book The Difference A Father Makes, including the loss of his heroic military dad in a tragic U.S. Navy plane crash in 1956. This book has changed thousands of readers' lives with nearly 200,000 copies sold since its release in 2004. The Difference a Father Makes has also been translated into Spanish, and Ed has since authored two other highly acclaimed books: Be Loved (2009, Ampelon) and The Father You’ve Always Wanted (2013, Baker).
Ed entered the ministry in 1984 and started traveling, sharing his testimony and speaking at evangelistic crusades and planted his current church, Stadium Vineyard in Anaheim, California in 1988.
Today, Ed Tandy McGlasson’s ministry, The Blessing of The Father, helps men and woman of all ages to live under the power of God’s blessing and smile, impacting the way we relate to God, our spouses, our children, our families, friends and people we encounter in our everyday lives. Ed’s message strikes the core of an epidemic: a fatherless society. He believes it can be addressed and healed through the hope found in the blessing of our Father in Heaven.
Ed has spoken at numerous conferences and corporate events throughout the country and across the world, including numerous rallies for Billy Graham crusades. He and his wife of 34 years, Jill, live in Southern California and have five adult children.
The Father loves you and sent His Only Son to let you know!
1. He sent His Son to invite us to be Fathered by God.
“So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.” (John 5:19)
Jesus lived through the love of His Father
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. (John 3:16–17 ESV)
2. He sent His Son so that we could be forgiven through His Mercy
For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. (Rom 5:18–19)
However, to all who did receive him, he gave authority to become God’s children, because they were exercising faith in his name. And they were born, not from blood or from a fleshly will, or from man’s will, but from God. (John 1:12, 13)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as he chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before him. In love, He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise and glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which he lavished on us. (Ephesians 1:3-8)
“So, if there is nothing you did to become a sinner, then there is also nothing you can do to make yourself right before God! When Jesus died on the cross, He died as if He were you, so that when you receive what He did by asking for forgiveness, and putting faith in His name, you can now live as though you were Him.” James Ryle
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ - by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:4–7)
The Father's mercy flows from His Great love for us
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
The Father has made us to make a difference
3. He sent his Son to reveal His voice to us through His Word.
And this is the real and eternal life: That they know you, The one and only true God (Father), And Jesus Christ, whom you sent. (John 17:3 MESSAGE)
4. He sent His Son to heal us through His sacrifice and resurrection.
Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:1-6)
Promise: You Don't have to repeat the broken patterns of your family. The New has come!
5. He sent his Son to teach us how to love
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins. Beloved ones, if this is how God loved us, then we are also under obligation to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we continue loving one another, God remains in us and his love is made perfect in us. (1 John 4:7-12)
6. He sent His Son to connect us to a Holy Spirit Empowered life.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
“even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—” (Ephesians 2:5)
“Jesus answered, `I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me…. Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” (John 14:6,9)
Jesus lived the life God wants every son and daughter to live…
7. He sent His Son to teach us how to live in the smile of His Father
“You love justice and hate evil. Therefore, O God, your God has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.”” (Heb 1:9 NLT-SE)
“I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father. In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.” (John 16:25–27)
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32)
It is the Fathers pleasure to bless your life with His Kingdom
8. He sent His Son to teaches us how to bless others
Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the Kingdom of God! (Luke 14:15)
“The Blessing of the Father is that moment when Jesus connects us to the unconditional love, grace, and favor of His Father so we can become the person God has called us to be, and live out the life He has made us for.” ETM
“As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants—from this time on and forever,” says the Lord. (Isaiah 59:21)
Hello and welcome to the Blessing of the Father Ministries! Have you ever felt like your dad doesn’t love you or wondered why he never blessed you? Have you thought about how your life might have been different if you’d had a present father in your life, someone who was rooting for you and never missed a game.
Do you worry about how you’re parenting your own kids? Have you said, “I’ll never do that to my kids!!” only to find yourself doing the exact same thing? Beloved, you’re not alone. Imagine what it would be like if you could have a Father who knew you so well He always had the right word of encouragement for you. What would it be like if you could call Him up right now without fear of shame or scorning and talk to Him about the struggles you’re having with your kids, your spouse or your loved ones? What you had a Father who didn’t just give you unsolicited advice but built you up for who you were and really believed in you? What kind of difference would that make in your life?
Beloved, I’ve been teaching the message of the Blessing of the Father for over 20 years at conferences all over the world and the response we’ve seen has been incredible. I’m here to tell you you can have the Father you’ve always wanted. I’ve designed this site with you in mind: so you can find the healing you’ve been looking for along with tools to help you in your journey with your family. Look around, stay awhile and become part of this journey to discovering the Father you’ve always wanted. The Father loves you and sent His Son to let you know.
